Rebranding the first Indian
holiday-wear brand

Shivan & Narresh, first Indian designers to step into beachwear, had their eyes set on being the first complete holiday-wear brand from India. Thus, they felt the need to strengthen their brand with a makeover of sorts to surf through the waves to the top.

Keeping their international clientele in mind they added “&” to their brand name and also introduced five new symbols to extend the branding more crisply through their product portfolio.

The symbols work towards showing their astute understanding of the depth and their vision of an avantgarde holiday-wear brand.

These symbols are suave, timeless and joyful. They create an exciting imagery of an adventurously beautiful vacation.

Symbol Design

One of the partners changed the spelling of his surname and thus the 'r' from his name in the earlier identity had to be removed. It also used these fractals just for decorative purposes but it was decided that we replace them with new symbols reflecting the breadth of the collection and the brand promise.

The ‘R’ from Shrivan was removed and the ampersand was added to the logotype to indicate that these are the names of two different people since internationally people would confuse it to be the name of a single person. Kerning of the overall logotype was also improved.
