A visual journey addressing the urgent needs of the humanitarian sector in the climate emergency

This project is close to my heart given that it was meant to campaign for the urgent needs of the humanitarian sector affected by the climate emergency. The project was done by a fully distributed team and across different organisations.

Problem Statement

UK-Med and HCRI needed help with visualising this story about a humanitarian worker and their journey through different emergencies thereby highlighting the current situation and the needs of the humanitarian sector.

Solution

It was decided to design a graphic novella for the web that would lead people to signing a petition calling for decision makers at the COP26 to take urgent action to address the climate crisis.

A protaganist was chosen through whose eyes we talk about some of the recommendations put together by UK-Med, HCRI and others through examples from the different conflict/disaster zones and talk about the work and the struggles of the humanitarian sector. It was a way to humanise and personalise the story for a stronger impact.
